Expanding Conservation Effort from Lower Zambezi National Park into the Adjacent Rufunsa Game Management Area
Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) is a non-governmental organization committed to the conservation of wildlife and the environment in the Lower Zambezi, Zambia. CLZ was founded to provide support to the national wildlife protection authority—Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW), to mitigate threats to wildlife from poaching in the region. The Lower Zambezi National Park is home to a number of iconic species, but despite law enforcement efforts, poaching remains a major threat to wildlife in the region, as is the case across much of Zambia. Through maintained law enforcement efforts, increased capacity building, and support for essential equipment, the LRF assists CLZ and DNPW to protect wildlife and ecosystems while increasing the effectiveness and quality of law enforcement efforts in the Lower Zambezi.
